So, again, the Word of God is clear on this...
Man is made in the image of God,
while the woman is the glory of the man.
And so, just as Christ so selflessly and lovingly
gave of Himself for the Churches in His love
for all of us in the Churches, so likewise are men
to so profoundly love their wives.
That is the Christian Marriage Model of
We do not follow the first Adam, but the Second Adam, which is
"And so it is written,
the first man Adam was made a living soul;
the last Adam [[ i.e., Christ ]] was made a quickening spirit.
Howbeit THAT WAS NOT FIRST THAT WHICH IS SPIRITUAL,
but [[ instead it was ]]
that which is natural [[ i.e., of nature, earth, flesh ]];
and [[ then came ]]
AFTERWARD THAT WHICH IS SPIRITUAL.
The first man is of the earth, earthy:
the second man is the Lord from heaven."
"And as we have borne the image of the earthy,
we shall also bear the image of the heavenly."
We do not follow after the earthy, first Adam,
but instead we follow after the Spiritual, Second
Adam, which is Christ.
And that is God's Plan for us Christians NOW, without any regard
for any inaccurately 'perceived' presupposition of God's supposed
"original" plan for marriage.
From Ephesians 5:22-25, we are instructed that Christian
to be as after the Churches, joyfully and willfully
submissive, receptive to their selflessly loving husband as the Churches are to be toward Christ.
And we are also instructed that a Christian husband
is to love his wives as profoundly, selflessly, givingly,
lovingly as the Lord Jesus so loves His Churches,
and laid down His life for us.
THAT is God's plan for Christian marriages, thereby showing us that
the presupposition of some supposed "original" plan of God for marriage, as at the garden
of Eden, is irrelevant.
We follow after the Second Adam, which is Christ,
as the marriage model for Christians is per Ephesians 5:22-25.
THAT is God's "plan" for marriage.
I realize that this reply from me here has been a bit
lengthy, but I pray that this has been of at least
some small value for all who have been able to read it.
And, B, thank you, specifically for asking such a good question!
And again, also, B, Welcome to FAF!
I truly look forward to hearing more from you here!
May the love of the Lord Christ Jesus be with us all!
